New community-based supported living hospital opens

A new hospital focused on a person-centred supported living philosophy for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and behaviour that challenges has opened in Nottingham.

The hospital, run by Eden Supported Living, is made up of 6 single-person apartments, each with a dedicated, qualified staff team who will work closely in partnership with the expertise of Eden’s full multi-disciplinary team. Both informal patients and those detained under the Mental Health Act can be admitted.

These self-contained apartments will enable people to receive treatment and care in their own apartment with privacy and dignity, minimising disruption to their lives and those who care for them. The service will meet the needs of those who require long-term intensive support but will benefit from a more individual service as well as those who require a period of assessment and treatment as part of their care pathway.
