Papworth Trust is challenging supporters to turn the world purple from 11 to 17 May to raise money for its work with older people and those with learning disabilities.
Fundraisers for the charity can pop on purple socks for the day or even go as far as to persuade the whole office to dress in purple from head-to-toe.
Annette Angell, Papworth Trust’s Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, said: “Our supporters always amaze us with the way they respond to a fun challenge. The money you raise by going purple will help us to provide essential services for disabled people in your area.
“And don’t forget to share your photos with us please. We’ll be running a little competition with a pleasing purple prize for the best!”

This is the second year the charity has run the campaign. Last year ideas included staff dressing in purple in shops and banks, special purple cocktails sold in pubs and bars, and a garden centre giving away purple balloons and selling purple flowers. Papworth Trust staff went to even greater extremes themselves, with a few dying their hair for the day and one even eating a restrictive purple-food diet for a week.
Papworth Trust offers essential support and care to disabled and older people, including those with learning disabilities as well as their families and carers. The charity helps people of all ages to live independently in their own homes, to learn new skills, and to find and keep jobs that are right for them.
